Croomwood's Roots

Over the last 20+ years, Cromwood has gone from being a small, home-based family business to employing morethan 100 people across offices in London and Greater Manchester.

We were set up by Moses Hirschler and his brother in law Moses Lorincz, now chief executive and chief financial officer respectively, with a clear ambition: to enable vulnerable and disadvantaged people to have a safe place to call home.

They could see there was a gap in the market for a small housing organisation to fulfil demand in niche areas by working in an entrepreneurial way with partners in order to fill the gaps left by larger organisations. In recent years, the launch of our registered provider, Cromwood Housing, has enabled us to play an even bigger role including the development of new social housing in London.

While Cromwood has grown considerably, the foundations of our success – an agile, trusted and hands-on approach – remain at the heart of the organisation.
