After the death of his beloved mother in 2001, SAH (our client) slowly detached himself from the family home where he grew up and eventually moved away due to his emotional grief. The property has been left empty since then.
Years of neglect meant the property slowly deteriorated and became an environmental issue both for the neighbours and the local authority. Various interventions by the local authority resolved several environmental issues and hazards; however, the property was in desperate need of full renovations.
SAH did not have the funds needed to carry out the renovations and the local authority grant wasn’t enough.
